Is Victor Conte a Genius? Or just another snitch?

Is Victor Conte a Genius? Or just another snitch?

Well, to be honest, I never thought much of his advice on performance enhancing drugs. Everyone knows that GH is undetectable, as is insulin, so those are no-brainers. EPO is easily hidden too, for the most part. So looking at those drugs, they’re a no brainer. No special genius is involved in giving that kind of thing to an athlete. The remaining drugs in his cocktail are Test/Epitest (the Cream) and THG (the Clear), norbolethone and modafinil. Patrick Arnold was the guy responsible for the last 4 of those drugs, although the only really unique find those 4 were the THG and norbolethone…Modafinil was on the scene for years already, and Test/Epitest combinations had been used for decades…the East Germans even had the idea in use by the late 60′s/early 70′s.

So, while Conte was responsible for actually selling the drugs to the athletes, he didn’t come up with anything revolutionary, and the portions of the drug protocol that was actually unique could all be attributed to Patrick. I’d also like to add at this point that Victor didn’t train any of the athletes who were winning medals. So what did Victor Conte do to validate his claim that he is partly responsible for the BALCO athletes being so good?

1. Did he synthesize the drugs they used? NO.

2. Did he come up with anything unique, drug-wise? NO.

3. Did he come up with anything that wasn’t already used? NO. (although Patrick Arnold did).

4. Did he train the athletes? NO.

5. Did he act as their dietician or nutritionist? NO.

Victor Conte gave athletes drugs. That’s all he did. He was a drug dealer who also sold them some supplements. He didn’t do anything that would make him any kind of trainer, and without the drugs, his athletes would have remained where they were when they met him.

Now onto question #2….is Victor Conte a Nark/Snitch. I define this as being someone who gives people up to Law Enforcement agents once they are themselves caught (usually for personal gain, though it can be for revenge, or just because they decided to rat other people out to take them down with them).  Let’s take a look at the evidence:

USA TODAY reports that:

“BALCO founder Victor Conte and vice president James Valente identified Arnold as the source of a once-undetectable steroid called ‘the clear.’”

So, in this case, Victor was giving up his dealer…Patrick was the dealer, and therefore, higher up on the food chain than Victor himself. Sounds like a classic rat/snitch to me. And let’s not forget that this snitching resulted in Patrick serving prison time.

In fact, the raid on Patrick’s lab and subsequent arrest were a direct result of Victor Conte giving Pat’s name to the Feds:

“Federal agents raided Arnold’s Champaign laboratory Sept. 29, but his name was linked to BALCO two years earlier when founder Victor Conte and vice president James Valente identified Arnold as the source of the once-undetectable THG.”

Conte served 4 months in prison and 4 months of home detention for a plea deal he struck with the prosecution:

Conte, who masterminded the plan, was sentenced to four months in prison and four months’ home confinement after negotiating a plea deal with federal prosecutors.

- yet, the original indictment listed 42 seperate felonies. Ummm….42 felonies, and yet he served 4 months in prison without snitching? That’s not realistic. Just what do you think that plea deal entailed???

Sorry. Victor Conte is a fucking rat, plain and simple. Check out the following excerpts from Conte’s interview with Special Agent Jeff Novitsky, then tell me if you think he’s a fucking rat or not:

1. IN this first legal document, you’ll notice that Conte offered up all of this information with no obligation to do so at all. Totally of his own free will:

Notice in this first part, it shows Conte was willing to speak with the officers, and what results (all of the following statements) is from Victor himself:

Note: Conte decides to talk to agents, even though he is under no obligaion to do so...

Noteice in Paragraph 7 here (they’re numbered, for her pleasure), Conte rats out Patrick Arnold directly. He rats out his dealer, in other words! Now, notice that not long after, he also rats out his clients in paragraph 8:

Therefore, Conte gives up not only his source (Patrick Arnold), but also his Clients, and receives a plea deal later on – serving almost no time!

On the following page, he continues to talk about all of his clients, giving up virtually everything he knows about them:

Finally, in his greatest moment, Conte even admits to bribing a Weider employee to give favorable endorsements of his product(s)!
Notice in this part of Conte's statement, he talks about bribing a Weider writer, for favorable publicity!

Take one Cap per day, and become a snitch like me!

Take one Cap per day, and become a snitch like me!

The stuff about him bribing a Weider author is interesting, to say the least, huh? But this isn’t the first time Victor has done a back room deal for someone to endorse his product……when he was interviewed by Nelson Montana for BioTest/T-Nation, Nelson thought Victor was a scam artist and that ZMA was bullshit. He did the interview, as Biotest had assigned him to do, but wrote it up as he saw it…in other words, as reported in Game of Shadows, Nelson said Victor was a con-man.

New from Biotest: More Snake Oil!

New from Biotest: More Snake Oil!

But Nelson didn’t know Biotest had already inked a deal with Victor to license his ZMA….so, once the editors over at Biotest got a hold of Nelson’s interview with Victor Conte, they turned Nelson’s attack on Victor and his bullshit ZMA product into a glowing endorsement! This story can be found on page 54 of Game of Shadows. It’s another example (and I can list several off the top of my head) of Biotest altering the facts to deceive their own membership (the T-Men, ha ha) for financial gain.

Also in that same interview, as reported by The Guardian, Victor Conte  says the following:

“I don’t condone the use of anabolic steroids or growth hormone. However, I know of a number of athletes who use growth hormone, and most of them are reporting tremendous benefits. A few [American football] players who have been caught using anabolic steroids have switched to using growth hormone by itself. Some of the older players in their mid-30s are also using growth hormone.”

Which of course is a lie. So here we have Victor snitching everyone out, both above and below him on the food chain, helping to send people to jail both above and below him, bribing authors and cutting back room deals for positive reviews, and having articles altered and edited to make him look good – and of course lying. Dammit..I almost forgot the plea deal that allowed him to deal drugs to all those people and only serve a few months in prison! If it walks like a snitch and sounds like a snitch….

soa96xOn top of that, he takes credit for the BALCO athletes, when really, that would be the same thing as the guy who sold Jimi Hendrix his acid claiming to be responsible for Jimi’s success.

Victor Conte is a piece of shit. I actually have MUCH more information on him, but I think I’ve proven my point, even to people who refuse to believe Conte is the snitch/liar that he is.

Props to Millard Baker for his efforts in bringing the truth to bear on this scumbag also.
