Steroid.com is back up….claiming it was technical problems (it wasn’t)

First of all, although there was speculation that I had something to do with steroid.com going down on Friday night (early Saturday morning). That’s kind of a silly rumor….but it’s also silly to believe that it was simply a technical difficulty or something of that nature. Remember, several sites went down, all in different states and with different servers and datacenters…so even if there was a technical difficulty, it wouldn’t have happened all at once in all those places.

Like I said, I’m at a loss to really explain what happened. I assumed that there was some kind of legal trouble, because I happen to know that the FTC, DEA, and FBI all have files open on Brian Clapp, who owns the sites that went down. He’s being investigated by fraud, and I’ve interviewed the agent in charge (in the Houston branch of the FBI) for my new book (and yes, I’m putting his name in the book) – the general consensus among the agents leading the investigation is that yes, Brian is operating at least 2 fraudulent businesses, and that the case will likely take a year to a couple of years, before they can prosecute.

Hence, I was shocked as shit when I saw Steroid.com go down, because it was only a few months since I last interviewed the agent in charge of the case. I was actually a little annoyed, because my new book is at the publishers, and in the first stage of editing, and I would have had to go back, reinterview people, and change parts of 2 different chapters, to reflect any new information.

So no, I had nothing to do with the fact that steroid.com went down (not that I’m aware of, anyway), and no I wasn’t happy about it. Like I said, my new book talks about basically everything I know about the industry, and it would have been a pain in the ass to go back and change things, and reinterview people.

Contrary to popular belief, the site and it’s owner aren’t that interesting to me…I didn’t care on Wednesday when him and his girl had a fight, nor most of the other things his online staff and office employees tell me….none of it really will help with my book, or anything else…it’s kind of funny that he keeps talking about how he “ruined my life” and that I’ll “never own a house” or “work again,” but hey, if it makes him happy then it doesn’t bother me.

I suspect…well, let’s just say that when my new book comes out, people are going to be pretty shocked at the info in it….and I doubt many people will look at most of the things in the industry the same anymore.
