I believe I am one of the privileged few who was allowed access to some of the content of “Generation S” before publication. Anthony Roberts had asked me if I would endorse his new book which is to be released in the fall of 2009. I told him that I would not promote anything unless I was able to at least read some of the material. This was certainly a fair proposition. What surprised me was that he gave me more chapters than I thought he would. I actually read a couple of them more than once: He had my interest. No, I did not take the time to go and double check all his facts for many reasons, the foremost being that I did not have access to his sources. However, after getting to know Anthony more, I came to realize that in a number of areas, his bench was deep. I was also awoken to the fact that his passion isn’t restricted to discerning the world of anabolic steroids, it is to literally write the truth about the inner workings of professional sports.
