Sometimes counterfeit anabolic steroids are done so well that nobody can tell the difference between the real McCoy and the fake product. Not too long ago, William Llewellyn even published pictures of fake Ttokkyo Dianabol in his “Anabolics” series of books. The Anabolics series of books, which publishes high quality photos of both fake and legitimate anabolic steroids, has made it easy for a counterfeiter with a simple Photoshop program and a printer to make great looking fake products simply by purchasing a copy of the book and using the pictures as his guide.
“Steroid Picture Forums” found on various discussion boards aren’t much better. All a counterfeiter has to do is upload pictures of his own fake products to enough boards, and soon enough, those photos of the fakes begin circulating as photos of legitimate products. It’s been going on for years…the easiest way to make your own counterfeit steroids is match your labels up with the ones in Anabolics, and start posting your own pictures of them all over the ‘net.
But sometimes counterfeiters are just lazy and/or stupid, and pump out products that wouldn’t – or shouldn’t – fool anyone. The most recent, and possibly most stupid, fake product I’ve seen in a long time is the fake Organon Dianabol. First of all, Organon doesn’t make Dianabol (Methandrostenolone). So this “counterfeit” is actually a non-existent product to begin with. Secondly, Dianabol is a registered brand name, owned by the pharmaceutical company Ciba. So if Organon were to make a Methandrostenolone product, it wouldn’t actually be called “Dianabol” as that would constitute trademark infringement. And, before I forget, when is the last time you’ve seen Organon produce steroid pills in a pouch instead of a bottle? That’s right, NEVER.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, try checking out the website for the Argentinian branch of Organon, which is the alleged country that this “Organon Dianabol” was produced in. You’ll notice that the page is not available currently. That’s because in 2001, Organon closed their factory in Argentina.
And where does this scam originate from? Well, according to a discussion over at Mesomorphosis.com, the fake product in question was purchased from a sponsor at….wait for it…ProfessionalMuscle.com! It’s not a good look for ProfessionalMuscle, when their sponsors get clearly caught scamming like this…and not a good look for the scammer in question who isn’t just a scammer but also a moron.
