William Llewellyn loses huge contract with Gaspari Nutrition, self publishes book on nutrition!

William Llewellyn is always good for a laugh, if nothing else. After losing the most lucrative contract of his career,  for his patented no-better-than-placeebo nutritional supplement (Arachidonic Acid), he went on to write a book about sports supplements. Of course this is nothing new to the anabolic-steroid writing industry….most of the bigger-name authors in the anabolic steroid field have designed supplements, including everyone from dealers/sources and underground labs who have gone into nutrition, to published authors. Of course, it’s rare when someone is publicly dropped by a huge nutritional company and then, within a week, starts announcing that they’re an expert in nutrition and self-publishing a book to that effect.

But in truth it would be difficult to name an author who has written extensively on anabolic steroids who hasn’t designed a nutritional supplement or worked in the nutritional industry. SteroidTimes.com has published a reasonably comprehensive list, and as I said, it’s more difficult to try naming a recognized steroid expert who hasn’t (at least) dabbled in the nutritional industry. But the really interesting thing here is that William Llewellyn’s only patented nutritional supplement has recently been dropped by Gaspari Nutrition – which is a clear indicator that they don’t think it to be worth including in their Halodrol product. While most people would take it as a public disgrace to have one of the largest sports supplement company in America dropping your placebo-ish ingredient from their top-selling product, William has turned around and announced that he’d be self-publishing a book on sports supplements. Naturally, I’m sure his terrible nutritional products and ingredients will be touted as the best.

llewellynnutritionThis is an old idea. Bill Phillips, the former owner of EAS and Editor in Chief of Muscle Media 2000 did almost exactly "SportsSupplementReviewthe same thing about a decade ago, when he published his own (highly) biased book “Sports Supplement Review” which was allegedly would have retailed for about $30, but was available to readers of MM2K or EAS customers for $3 or so….frankly, it was just a huge catalog for his EAS products, and I suspect that Mr. Llewellyn’s book will likely be another cheap or free book, which will serve mostly as a vehicle to promote himself and his interests in the nutritional industry. In fact…it’s almost got the same name as the Phillips book, and is uncreatively named  “Sports Supplement Guide” (yeah, he basically changed one word for the title). If he really wants to rip off Phillips old ideas, he should give the book away (or just charge for “shipping and handling” – which is exactly how Phillips marketed it and convinced people to plunk down their coin to get what was effectively just a catalog).

Don’t be fooled. This is a catalog for Llewellyn’s terrible nutritional products, and certainly should not be considered an unbiased review of sports supplements.
